Digital Story 3

This is my 3rd story for this year. I feel making this one was easiest because there is so much to talk about with global warming. What i found challenging was the narrations. It was extremely frustrating trying to get the recording perfect. in the end I had about 30 seconds completed in 45 minutes. I feel that This story is somewhat better than my other stories but yet a little worse, but that's only my opinion. To see what i graded myself, Click Here
Digital Story 3 Narrative
Posted: Wednesday, May 19, 2010 by Nicholas Martucci inI am a timber wolf. I have been observing my habitat and many trees have started to disappear as wells as the usual migration of the ducks. I think he human interaction has something to do with this. There has been an increase of smog and I can hardly breathe anymore. I am afraid for my offspring and what they might have to face if I bring them into this world. I was talking to one of my cousins from Alaska and she said that polar bears have started o move into her territory. From what I know, the polar bears are ticked off about their habitat melting away as well as their young drowning. I want to find a way to fix this problem, maybe I could show some ways that the humans can improve their machines and habits to make them more environmentally friendly. If they don't stop we will start to vanish off the face of the earth causing the ecosystem to be disrupted. In turn affecting the humans anyway. If you know its just going in a big circle because what is done to our environment effects us then effects the humans. there is nothing else to do but improve the environment. Everything was better when the humans weren't here.

I put a lot of hard work into this digital story, I feel that ever since I have joined the boy scouts I have become a better person. Without the scouts, I would have never learned some important life lessons. Some of the lessons that I have learned are survival techniques, patience, and I have even learned some cool tricks. There are so many things that help to develop who you are, one of the things that developed me to who I am is scouting. It is a very big commitment and requires lots of time and patience. Kudos to whoever else made their journey in scouting. Click Here to see what I graded myself, comment on what you think!

Posted: Thursday, April 22, 2010 by Nicholas Martucci inI am part of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). They are a community service type club, I am part of troop 222. The Boy Scouts are a very good organization to get involved in many different activities that helps change my community. I am proud to be a part of the scouts and my ultimate goal is to become an Eagle Scout. A Gold Psalm Eagle Scout is the highest rank in the BSA. Getting to eagle isn't easy, you have to advance from rank to rank while earning merit badges, participating in large amounts of community service hours, going to summer camps, projects, large amounts of organization, and having fun on the way. The ranks go from scout, tenderfoot, 2nd class, 1st class, star, life, eagle (bronze, silver, gold) psalm. To advance from each rank, one has to obtain merit badges, do community service hours, and other miscellaneous activities such as: organizing camping trips, groceries for the trips, day hikes, service projects, etc.... There are 12 eagle required merit badges and 9 miscellaneous merit badges (21 total) that need to be earned in order to earn eagle rank, but in order to gain the palms you have to earn even more miscellaneous merit badges, for bronze you need 5, silver is 10, gold is 15. That is a total of 51 badges.
Digitails Evaluation

She made her digital story about a little girl who lived during the Cuban Missile crisis. I gave this story an exemplar grade because she had lots of pictures, video, voice, and music that went along great and smooth with the plot/ point of the digital story. This is a very good example of a very good digital story. According to the Asia Society Graduate portfolio, this author is "Skilled for Success in a Global Environment." the reason for this is that Bonnie Muir:
Is “literate for the 21st century” – proficient in reading, writing, viewing, listening, and speaking in English and in one or more other world languages
Can demonstrate creative and complex thinking and problem solving skills by analyzing and producing viable solutions to problems with no known or single right answer
Can use digital media and technology to access and evaluate information from around the world and effectively communicate, synthesize, and create new knowledge

Digital Story 3 Topic
Posted: Sunday, April 11, 2010 by Nicholas Martucci inIt is time to chooses a new topic for my digital story #3, this topic is going to be Global Warming. The reason for why I am going to choose Global Warming is because that it effects everyone. This topic really interests me; therefore, I would like to do a presentation on it and find out a little more about it in the process. I feel that this project topic would reflect the elements of "global citizenship".
Digital Story 1 Reflection
Posted: Friday, April 9, 2010 by Nicholas Martucci inThe digital story 1 has a lot to o with our student portfolio. Our student portfolio can be both culturally aware and technologically aware. We are culturally aware because we explain the culture in our families. In our generation presentation (digital story 1), we had to explain basically who we are in the digital story. This helps us become more culturally aware as 21st century students. We are culturally aware students also by explaining what nationalities we are, what our religion is, what we celebrate in our culture, and show our nations flags. This is how we show our culture in our presentations. We are technologically aware in our student portfolios because we used different resources to show our generation with different multi-medias. This helps us become more modern as students of the 21st century. We used recources such as: google images, imovie, iphoto, safari, itunes, garageband, windows moviemaker, and much more. This is why our presentations have a lot to do with our student portfolio.

21st Century Teen

This is my digital story as a 21st century teenager. It was a very easy process when it came to gathering information and pictures. The hardest part of this project was putting everything into its correct order, adding transitions, and choosing the song. Those were the hardest parts of creating this digital story. I really learned something about myself in the process of making this.Click here to see my grade...
